Het gaat in eerste instantie om 1 miljoen mondkapjes per week, ook wel FFP2-mondmaskers genoemd. Op dit moment is er een dringend tekort aan beschermende middelen voor personeel in de zorg en andere risicovolle beroepgroepen. De productie die zo snel mogelijk wordt opgestart, moet het tekort helpen oplossen. De overheid is verantwoordelijk voor de distributie en verdeling van de geproduceerde FFP2-mondmaskers. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het Alkmaarse bedrijf dat onder meer 3 fabrieken in China heeft, was tijdens de uitbraak van het virus in de provincie Wuhan al nauw betrokken bij het leveren aan en plaatsen van luchtfilters in twee noodziekenhuizen in Wuhan. Toen het virus Europa bereikte, groeide ook hier de vraag naar geavanceerde luchtfilters. Zo plaatste AFPRO al specifieke luchtfilterinstallaties bij noodhospitalen in het buitenland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Machine naar Nederland <\/strong><br \/>\nTwee weken geleden werd de roep om beschermende middelen zoals mondkapjes steeds dringender. Het tekort belemmert meer en meer het werk van verzorgend &#8211; en medisch personeel. Daarop besloot de directie van AFPRO om in Nederland FFP2-mondmaskers te produceren. Op die manier kunnen deze mondmaskers volgens Nederlandse standaarden op eigen bodem worden gemaakt en snel worden geleverd. Het gaat in eerste instantie om de productie van 1 miljoen mondmaskers per week. Het is de bedoeling om de productie verder op te schalen.<\/p>\n<p>Joost Verlaan, vice-president van AFPRO Filters: \u201cOveral hoor je dat we dit virus alleen kunnen overwinnen als we het samen doen. Dat betekent, doen wat je kan. Voor iedereen geldt: blijf thuis en houdt afstand. Voor ons betekent het ook: produceer en lever!
